Armoured cables are one of the most common cables fitted by electricians. The traditional way of fixing them directly to walls is to use a cable cleat, screw and a wall plug. The 18th edition changes with regards to premature collapse in a fire mean installers need to find some new methods of fixing. In response to this, Linian the Glasgow based manufacturer or cable clips introduced a beefed-up version of their Fireclip range to tackle armoured cables and conduit.

The Superclip is a single component fixing. Drill a 10mm hole, wrap over the cable and push into the hole with a light tap of a hammer - job done.
This approach speeds up installation time compared to traditional cleats. The added advantage is that the Superclip is an almost invisible fixing. While the overall look of an industrial installation isn't often the highest of priorities, the use of armoured cables in residential applications is increasing with the growth of electric vehicle charge points. Clients don't want the industrial look of armoured cable applied to the front of their house, so anything which reduces the visual impact is an advantage.
